Chanel Iman in Elle Italia

Photo Sources: JeremyDante

Congrats to Chanel Iman for being uber fab in Elle Italia. We LOVE to see young women do their thing!

Vashtie

Vashtie Kola  designs clothes, directs videos, consults for major record companies, throws the hottest parties, produces and now she is the first female ever to design sneakers for Nike Air Jordan.

The Nike Air Jordan’s that  Vashtie designed Jordan II (Retro) in lavender showcase Vashtie’s distinct style.  I’m not a big fan of kicks but these  Jordans just might make it into my closet this year. They were released October 2nd, and I’m sure they are flying off of the shelves. Congrats to Vashtie she’s definitely making moves. Hmm I wonder how her ex Pharrell feels about this?

Bookmarc

Something that I don’t think any other designer has done before is open their own bookstore. Marc Jacobs just opened up his first bookstore this week that will feature mostly art and photography books. The store will also offer exclusive products such as vinyl records, notebooks, pens and CD’s. The store is located in Greenwich Village at 400 Bleecker Street in New York. The store plans on hosting book signings and small performances. They are also replacing the accessories shop with a more higher end accessories store that is going to open later this week but you can still find some of the affordable items that were previously sold at the old accessories store in the Bookmarc store. Forget going to Staples and Office Max, now you can go to school in style with the Marc Jacob colorful abstract notebooks, colored pencils and cases.

Apparently everyone is not too happy with the recent Marc Jacob stores to Bleecker street. People who live in the neighborhood have been complaining about the constant traffic and crowd of tourists in the area. They are also buying old mom and pop stores that can no longer afford the rent and replacing them with a national brand.

Whats next for Markie Marc? They have already announced the opening of the Marc Cafe which will be located somewhere in uptown New York. Looks like Marc Jacob is a lifestyle not just brand.

Gunn’s Golden Rules

Wowza! In Project Runway’s Tim Gunn’s new book Gunn’s Golden Rules, he takes shots at some of the most reputable icons in the business. Everyone is talking about the fact that he mentions the queen of fashion, Anna Wintour and fashion designer Issac Mizhari. Tim discusses one of his most unforgettable moments:

“I was asked what I’ve seen in fashion that I’ll never forget, and it was very easy — it was seeing Anna Wintour being carried down five flights of stairs for a fashion show,”

Obviously Anna Wintour was not too pleased about this statement and when her PR rep contacted Gunn, he simply replied,

“Accept responsibility for your own behavior. If you’re going to be carried down five flights of stairs, own up to it.”

After hearing about this controversial book, I must read it for myself to see what the hype is all about.

25th Anniversary of Elle

Elle is celebrating their 25th anniversary with the release of their October issue. To celebrate they are featuring 25 women around the age of 25 that are currently thriving in their careers and have selected four of the girls to have their own cover. The four lucky girls are Gabourey Sidibe, Megan Fox, Lauren Conrad, and Amanda Seyfried.

If you think Lauren Conrad’s career is over now that The Hills is over; think again.LC is in the works of getting her own television show and also has her own clothing line sold at Kohl’s.

A lot of people are happy about Gabourey Sidibe being featured on the cover of Elle but are mad about how she is resprented on the cover. While all the other girls have fully body profiles on the cover, Gaborey’s body takes up the whole cover. Besides that, Gabourey’s hair is not up to par either.

Also in this issue Megan Fox discusses her marriage and how people think she is too young to be married to Brian Austin Greene who is 37 years old, andAmanda Seyfried talks about her fear of growing old.

Doesn’t it feel good to Pay Less for Christian Siriano?

Everyone wants to have that one pair of shoes that turns heads, it’s hot, it’s sexy and usually expensive. Christian Siriano from reality tv show Project Runway is making things a whole lot easier and way more affordable for all of the shoe lovers out there!  Christian Siriano’s amazing shoes will be sold at PayLess stores. These shoes are expected to be sold at $60 or less and will hit stores this upcoming February. The Spring 2011 collection from Christian Siriano came from African, Indian and Chinese influences. We give this shoe two pluses and one minus.

Plus: Great shoes for a reasonable price!

Minus: For $60 all the fashion wannabes are going to buy these on a POGO sale and they won’t be exclusive.

Lavish, Luxurious— Lanvin

Last year it was Jimmy Choo, this year its Lanvin that is collobarating with H&M. I can’t wait!!! The only problem is that last year the Jimmy Choo collection only lasted hours when it hit H&M stores. The store had a long line and by the end of the day the Jimmy Choo/H&M items were gone. The Lanvin collection will include both me and women’s fashion for H&M. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because they share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to both men and women around the world. So if you want some Lanvin better get to H&M extra (and we mean extra) early on November 23rd.

FEARLESS magazine hits stands later this month. The FEARLESS class of 2010 includes Tia Mowry, Lauren London, Naturi Naughton, Monique Coleman, Jennifer Freeman, Kyla Pratt, Tiffany Hines, and Chyna Layne. Ladies, don’t worry! Fearless Mag has some eye candy for us as well in the first issues! Mr. Lance Gross, the  handsome cast from the  movie ” Takers” and athletes Andre Berto, and Dwight Freeney. Yeah they looked out!
